Tiny Cabin Road Trips + Ultra Luxe Kid's Dream Suites

Peek inside for kid-friendly travel inspiration, delivered to your inbox every week.

Well, wooooo-hooo! Welcome, travel aficionados, to the launch of our weekly newsletter. I’m thrilled that you’ve taken the time to open it and take a look. My goal is that each week, you find inspiration, advice, and plenty of family-friendly travel options when you peep inside.

The theme of our first issue is: High-Low. We’re highlighting jaw-dropping luxury suites pulled right from the imaginations of littles. And we’re reviewing tiny-cabin glamping that’s only a couple hour’s drive from most major metro areas, as well as all the nature-focused goodies (all under $20!) that will help keep kiddos busy outdoors, so mom and dad can kick back by the campfire.

I’d love to hear your feedback. Simply hit “reply” on this email and shoot me a note!

World’s dreamiest family suites

Just one of the spectacular family suites overlooking Hong Kong at Island Shangri-La

Now this is the stuff that dreams are made of. An airship voyage bunk room, with a working propeller, steering wheel and tunnel that connects to mom and dad's room? An enchanted fairy-tale themed guestroom overlooking Hong Kong, complete with sleep-in magical carriage, slide, tea set and dress-up costumes?

These magical luxury suites are just two examples of the family-friendly overhaul that transformed luxe hotel Island Shangri-La's 45th floor. Every detail - and we mean every detail - has been considered in this redesign. Click the link below for mega eye candy and more details.

Road trip! Tiny cabin glamping

A peek inside our tiny cabin with a queen-size bunk

This summer, I plotted my first one-on-one adventure with my four year old. We drove an hour and half outside of Detroit for two nights of glamping at a tiny cabin resort. These clever properties - home to dozens of "tiny home" cabins, each with private outdoor space - are located across the U.S.

Near major metro areas, they offer an easy and relatively affordable escape to nature, without the need to borrow a tent or buy a sleeping bag. Each tiny cabin offers a cozy queen bed (or queen bunk), placed just in front of an expansive window to the wilderness. A small table and kitchenette supply everything you'll need to cook up a meal on the stove or bonfire grill. A tiny bathroom, including a toilet and shower are also tucked inside.

If you’re planning a camping (or glamping!) trip with your kiddo, or any nature-based adventure - even your backyard - scope out our favorite Amazon buys, all $20 or less:
