We Found the World's 4 Best Playgrounds

And they're all within an hour drive from one another đŸ€Ż

Happy Friday eve! We’re starting to see the first glimmers of spring with temperatures that peaked in the 50s this week (!!), so please don’t mind me venturing right into playground territory. We’re divulging what we believe to be the best playgrounds in the world. Certainly the best along our world-tour route, that is. And the most shocking part, they’re all within an hour drive from one another. The scenery is epic. And our favorite serves drinks too. #priorities

Bort Alpine Playground

Switzerland’s Amazing Alpine Playgrounds

Best playgrounds in the world? We vote yes.

You’ll find them all in Switzerland. Here are our four favorites after spending two weeks in the Swiss Alps with our family—including a baby and toddler.

📍 Bort Alpine Playground, Grindelwald

📍 Alpine Herdsman’s Playground, Mannlichen

📍 Flower Park, Murren

📍 Staubbach Falls Playground, Lauterbrunnen

AND they’re all within an hour’s drive. But note that doesn’t include the funicular or cable car you might be required to take to get to them!

Fancy a bite?
You’ll find eats and drinks at both the Alpine Herdsman’s Playground as well as Murren’s Flower Park (our preference for lunch!), where you’ll find at the Allmendhubel Observation deck, reached by cable car. Because while the playground takes the cake (even on a cloudy day!), there’s a restaurant with an expansive outdoor deck right beside it, serving up cold brews and drinks, as well as lovely charcuterie platters.

Did we partake? Absolutely. (Highchairs available, naturally.) Once you’ve had a bite to eat, you can join your kids to take a ride on the zip line, play in the tiny cheese shop featuring big cheese-wheel cushions, or follow your gut in the flower labyrinth. Not far, you’ll also find a child-centric Children’s Adventure Trail, which winds further down the mountain and offers kid-friendly activities along the way.

The only place in the world that comes second to Switzerland’s playground culture? New Zealand. But more on that later. 😉
